I just want to thank everyone for lighting candles and leaving tributes for Doris - it means the world to me. I am sorry I dont come on here very often but i find things very hard at times. Thank you each everyone of you angels. love Krystle xx
Doris is part Siamese and was brown, even though she actually looked black. She was actually a twin but unfortunatly her brother died at birth. Doris was special and true survivor. She had very long ears and she never seemed to grow into them. She lived to the ripe old age of 22 in human years but that is the equiverlent to 104 in cat years. She was an old lady.
Doris was a lovely cat who loved to be around people. She would sit on anyones lap and loved to be cuddled. Doris made sure that she always spent equal time on peoples lap so she could be stroked by everyone. She was definatly a peoples cat. My lap will never feel the same without her sitting on it.
Doris would go to bed at night and she knew exactly where her spot was; under the covers at the egde of the bed where it was nice and warm. She was also an alarm clock and would meow so loud when it was time to get up. Bless her she used to make me chuckle when she did this, especially when she did it to tell me to go to bed. Doris was a talkative cat and boy did we know we were in trouble when we got home late. Its was as though she was sitting there with her paw on her hip saying 'excuse me what time do you call this......some of us are hungry here.....yes thats fine you stroke away but can you get my food out now'
Doris loved to find her spot on the sofa, especially where the sun was shinning through the window. She would sit next to me and get as close as she could, there will now be an empty space next to me. But I know that will always be her place and could never be filled.
She ruled the house from the start till the end and will continue to rule it even though she has gone. The other cats in the house always knew Doris was boss and they knew not to mess with her. Well some of them tried but if they did she bopped them on their head as if to say 'eeeerrrrrr excuse me that is my food so move it'.
Sadly on the 20th November 2009 Doris informed us that the end was near and that she was ready to go. I wrapped her up in a blanket and held her close to my heart while we went to the vets. I didnt want to see her suffer any more and i couldnt watch her dignity been taken away. I stayed by her side and held her in my arms while she went to sleep and joind my sister Leanne, Benji, Poppy and grand parents.
Doris we love you so much and that love will never fade. She was truely and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, the best cat anyine could ever have. I will never forget you and when you left this earth you took a piece of my heart with you. You be happy now little one and share the love you shared with us, with those in heaven. Miss you so much Doris xx
